NZheretic writes: “In order to preempt Sun’s request to require Microsoft to include a copy of Sun’s Java JVM ( Java Virtual Machine ) in the latest round of private antitrust actions, Microsoft is including a copy of it’s own JVM, which is riddled with vulnerabilities, in XP SP1. Jouko Pynnonen, a researcher at Online Solutions, said that, although the vulnerabilities were found in the Java environment, “they do not seem to originate from the original Sun Microsystems code, but in the modifications or additions made by Microsoft”. He confirmed that, during testing, Sun’s Java plug-in showed no known vulnerabilities.”
