Mono designed to rein in GNOME developers

From a column at InfoWorld.com: “Miguel de Icaza is well-known and well-respected in open-source circles as the author
and leader of Ximian Gnome, a Linux desktop environment. A flood of articles published
recently discussed how much de Icaza likes Microsoft’s .NET development environment and
how he now wants to duplicate much of it as an open-source project called Mono. Is anyone else beside me groaning about this?
