SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 16, 2004 — MontaVista Software, Inc. today announced the signing of a corporate-wide agreement with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (NYSE: MC), best known for its Panasonic brand products, which will enable Matsushita to use MontaVista® Linux®, a leading systems software platform, for future electronic products in Matsushita’s key market segments. Matsushita has selected MontaVista Linux as one of its preferred system platforms.
MontaVista Linux offers a unique value to highly connected electronics devices, and it is seeing growing adoption by leading electronics manufacturers worldwide.
Matsushita is a worldwide leading supplier of Panasonic brand products in areas such as consumer home appliances, audio-visual equipment, factory automation machines and car electronics systems. The agreement between Matsushita and MontaVista Software covers all three product editions of MontaVista Linux – Professional Edition, Carrier Grade Edition and Consumer Electronics Edition.
MontaVista Linux is already running on a number of Panasonic devices, such as the IP-set-top box “Broadnow.â€
