The Monthly Troubleshooter: The USB Subsystem

13
USB generally tends to be a trouble-free area of Linux: most modern distros handle it very well, and the degree to which it’s become automated is very impressive (kudos to all the people involved – especially from those of us who remember the early days!) However, when it does break, troubleshooting can be rather difficult: there are a number of pieces that all have to work together. Even more problematic, which pieces have to work in what situation varies… and not all of these have ‘usb’ in the name.
