Napster seeks alliance with publishers

A Reuters story at USA Today reports on Napster's quest for allies in the music publishing industry, and its progress toward a pay-for-content model. The new service "is being built to enable all artists and songwriters to receive payments whether they're on a major label or not," said Napster CEO Hank Barry. The new premium service should launch this summer.
