NEC Taps Intel Subsidiary for Linux Help

Following its acquisition by Intel, Wind River continues to serve customers using non-Intel architectures. Today, it announced an ARM-based customer win with Japanese consumer electronics giant NEC.

The top embedded Linux OS and tools vendor since 2008, according to research firm VDC, Wind River by VDC estimates controls more than 30 percent of the market.
