Andy Updegrove writes “The biggest stumbling block for ODF in Massachusettes was addressing accessibility issues. In January of this year, Secretary of Administration and Finance Thomas Trimarco pledged that a mid-year assessment would be made to determine if the original January 2007 implementation date would leave state employees with disabilities out in the cold. Now that assessment has been released, and the full implementation date has been delayed only by six months – to June 2007, with the plugins expected to be only a stopgap measure as well.”
