Microsoft, snoozing peacefully after winning the browser wars of the 1990s, recently got a rude wake-up call. While it slept, the remnants of the browser it had defeated reconstituted. Firefox, born from the ashes of Netscape’s one-time dominance, was released and immediately earned market share and acclaim from users.
