Open Source: Enterprise ready -- with qualifiers

"This much we can say for sure: The Open Enterprise -- the corporate IT organization using open-source and standards-based software to meet today's business requirements -- is alive, it's well and it's plotting ways to further leverage open software.
But the reality of the much-hyped open source movement comes up a bit short of an unqualified endorsement from IT executives in big companies. Many aren't throwing open the floodgates to open source and standards -- at least not yet -- due to lingering fears about issues including support, security, and the plain-old need to hold someone responsible if software breaks down."
