Anthony Minessale writes “FreeSWITCH, an open source software based switching platform, has just released news of a new speech detection API to complement it’s existing Text-To-Speech API making it possible to develop rich voice applications with little effort.
FreeSWITCH, started in early 2006, has completed several phases of development including interop with GoogleTalk, passing and conferencing of 16 kilohertz Voice and Text-To-Speech audio and now offers an abstraction layer to plug in any speech detection software to be used in interactive scripts.
