Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 2, 2004 — Open Stickers (http://www.openstickers.org) is the fusion of the Open Source philosophy along with the passion for personal expression. Using Open Source software to create their copyright free designs, Open Stickers provides liberal sticker designs for free download. Open Stickers also provides the complete image source (in Gimp 2.0 file format) for all of the available designs.

Open Stickers also distributes hundreds of their printed stickers for free at local political events and randomly around the Philadelphia area. “I usually carry several with me as I walk around Philadelphia to give away or I often leave a stack of stickers somewhere for people to take,” says Open Stickers founder Peter Foley.

Open Stickers encourages site visitors to download the sticker designs and use the designs in a variety of ways. “Visitors may print our designs on their personal computer or have the designs printed professionally. Visitors may also make modifications to our designs and even sell the original or modified designs.”

For visitors who are unable to print the designs, Open Stickers sells printed versions directly from their web site. “We hope that by selling our stickers we will be able to offset our costs of having stickers printed for free distribution.”

In the true Open Source spirit, Open Stickers looks towards the community for suggestions, improvements, and design submissions. “Open Stickers is still in its infancy. With help from the community we will be able to grow into a large, established project.”
