Beijing Co-Create Open Source Software Company to contribute to Linux kernel development and promote Linux desktop use in China

BEAVERTON, Ore. and Beijing – January 30, 2004 – The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux,
today announced that Beijing Co-Create Open Source Software Company, Ltd., one of China’s leading open source software development firms, has joined OSDL and
plans to focus on Linux kernel development and the promotion of the Linux desktop in China.

Beijing Co-Create Open Source Software Company, Ltd., was founded by ten separate Chinese software vendors in April of 2001 to work closely with the
international open source software community. The company cooperates with and promotes Open Desktop.net, the first open source community in China to focus on
desktop productivity with Linux.

Linux use is growing rapidly in China. Estimates from the Chinese government’s Beijing Software Industry Productivity Center show Linux sales in China growing
at over 40% per year from $6.3 million in 2002 to $38.7 million in 2007.

“With the tremendous momentum for Linux in China, we’re excited that Co-Create is joining OSDL as our first Chinese member,” said Stuart Cohen, CEO of OSDL.
