OSS Community: talk to the hand, Microsoft

Prior to this years Linux World, Microsoft approached the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) with the following proposal: perform a joint Linux and Windows fact-finding research project. The project would be performed by an independent company that was mutually agreed upon between OSDL and Microsoft. To top it off, Microsoft offered to pay half of the costs of the project.
