Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose
Chuck Talk writes "Jean Baptiste Alphonse Karr, a French critic, teacher, philosopher and novelist of 19th century Paris gave us the immortal words above, which are often ill-quoted in the English language as the proper attribution is missing. The words have been appropriated and re-used with such commonality that the true author is so rarely given credit for his expression. That phrase, for those who do not read French, is loosely translated to mean "the more things change, the more they stay the same.""
