Prestigious US award for CERN computing

CERN's Information Technology Division recently accepted the 21st Century Achievement Award from the Computerworld Honors Program, for its work in developing large-scale data warehousing technology. The architecture, known as SHIFT, is described in the press release at AlphaGalileo as a "massive system with thousands of Linux PC nodes."
