Boston Area Event Draws Presenters and Attendees from
Leading Defense, Animation, Financial, and Medical Imaging Companies

Cambridge, MA May 3, 2004 Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS), the leading provider of advanced user interface development tools, announced today that engineers from defense, aerospace, automotive, financial services, medical technology and entertainment industries will converge on the Boston area next month for a conference focusing on user interface (UI) tools for the creation of missioncritical software. The primary focus will be on approaches and techniques for leveraging Trolltechs Qt framework and ICSs graphical user interface (GUI) add-on tools.

The ICS Qt Developers Conference will be held May 10 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Waltham, Massachusetts. Special training sessions on Qt will be held May 11-13 and May 24 28th. (For conference and training session details and agenda, visit http://www.ics.com/qtmeetings/ )

Conference highlights include a keynote address by Haavard Nord, Trolltechs CEO and co-founder, and a presentation by Joseph Longson, senior software engineer with Walt Disney Feature Animation, who will conduct a presentation on leveraging Qt and showcasing the user interface techniques used by the Walt Disney development team for its animated feature film production.

From animators creating the next big Hollywood hit to developers working on software for national defense, high performance computing is placing greater demands than ever on software engineers, said Peter Winston, president and CEO of ICS. Our Qt Developers Conference and training sessions provide an opportunity for engineers to compare notes and share their knowledge about the latest approaches, techniques, and tools that will help them do their jobs better.

The increasing number of organizations depending upon high performance software applications that continue to grow in complexity has driven demand for more flexible, intelligent, and intuitive application development frameworks and user interfaces. ICSs Qt Developer Conference and training sessions will address these issues and more.

The choice to use ICSs GUI tools and Trolltechs Qt framework for our GUI development has allowed us to focus on the look and feel of the application as well as the needs of the artists, said Joe Longson, senior software engineer for Walt Disney Feature Animation. This frees us from needing to focus on the nitty-gritty of the GUI implementation and the subtle nuances between hardware platforms.

Developed by Trolltech, Qt is a multiplatform C++ application framework developers can use to write single-source applications that run natively on Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, and embedded Linux. ICS provides graphical user interface (GUI) tools and products, in addition to consulting and training services that improve the productivity of business critical applications in C/C++ and Java. As Trolltechs preferred North American training partner, ICS will be hosting and presenting the regional Qt training conference.

We are very fortunate to have ICS as a committed partner that provides add-on tools and services for our customers, said Haavard Nord, Trolltechs CEO and co-founder. ICS and Trolltech customers are developing some of the most innovative and important applications in use around the world today. In the future, it will continue to be important for them to have these add-on products, services and training.
