Michael S. Mimoso writes “HP, SuSE Enterprise Server 8 set clustered Oracle benchmark.
Hewlett-Packard announced last week that it has achieved the first clustered Oracle Applications Standard Benchmark (OASB) using ProLiant servers running SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8. A two-node HP ProLiant DL580 cluster running SuSE, Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.6 and Oracle 9i database with Real Application Clusters (RAC) v9.2.0.1 achieved 6,832 concurrent users and an average response time of 1.24 seconds. HP said its configuration beat a single-node Sun eight-way database server by 31%. The Oracle Applications Standard Benchmark is focused on ERP applications and represents a mixed workload intended to model the most common transactions operating on the seven most widely used enterprise application modules.”
