Red Hat hands over eCos copyright

Red Hat is handing over all its copyrights in the embedded real-time eCos open source operating system to the Free Software Foundation (FSF).

The Linux firm announced that it was making the donation to enable the FSF to act as the sole copyright steward of the project.

Red Hat general counsel and executive vice president Mark Webbink said: “Red Hat continues to have great confidence in the FSF as a trusted repository
for free software code and projects.
