Fairfax I.T. is reporting that Linux will be the fastest growing software platform, with its market earnings tipped to increase by 33 % over the next four years to U.S. $3.39 billion. That’s according to a Salomon Smith Barney report.
The company’s September Server and Enterprise Hardware and PC Hardware Quarterly says Windows NT systems will garner 21% market growth — the second largest gain — in the period from 1999 to 2004, earning Microsoft $31.79 billion.
