Review: Xandros Desktop OS 2.0

28
Many Linux vendors are making a grab for the grail of “Linux Desktop”–a simple workstation system that will escape the complexity and truly bring
Linux to the masses. But only one vendor has gone to the bold extreme of putting “desktop” in the very name of the system. When I saw the name Xandros
Desktop OS 2.0, I could tell this wouldn’t be the usual Linux Apache/Samba/Sendmail station. When Xandros uses the word “desktop,” they’re not talking
about a GUI. They are talking about the whole operating system. I reviewed Xandros Desktop OS, and I found it to be a smart, simple Linux system that
is sure to win converts in the upcoming battle for the desktop.
