ServerWatch reviews the Zeus Web server, a mid-range, high-performance server for Unix platforms: "
f you're looking for a fast server that can host thousands of Web sites on a single
machine, Zeus is likely to be your best best. Zeus continues to dominate
SPECWeb96, an independent Web server benchmark test conducted by the
Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation. Zeus has been shown to be more
than 36% faster than Netscape Enterprise and Apache by the SPEC consortium
(when the servers are compared on the same hardware and platforms)." The downside to all this wonderful performance is the possibility that users may balk at Zeus' $1,699 price tag. It may be faster than Apache, but it certainly can't beat its price.
