Frederick Johnson, president of Ross-Tek, a Cleveland-based solution provider focused on Small Business Server, recently held a Microsoft-subsidized seminar as part of a pilot test of the Marketing Tool. “We’re seeing a new partner program starting to emerge that is closer to what Microsoft said it was going to be a year ago,” said Johnson, noting that Ross-Tek has closed three deals as a result of the seminar.

However, Johnson said he would like to see Microsoft focus more on helping him target specific vertical markets rather than bolstering its anti-Linux initiative. “I don’t run up against Linux,” he said.
