ZDNEt eWEEK article surmises, “The Internet will not escape taxes. This seems obvious,
but all parties seem to be in denial. Maybe the subject is being avoided because neither
candidate wants to be cast in the light of raising taxes
or risk the ire of tax-shy dot-com contributors. Whatever
the reasons, this neglect is taking place even as we
overcome the technical barriers to consistent tax
collection on Web purchases. It’s time to close this
reality gap.”
