In rough Q3, AMD reports loss, Apple beats expectations

Kelly McNeill writes “The mixed bag of earnings reports being released this week continued Wednesday as chip maker Advanced Micro Devices posted a third-quarter loss of $186.9 million, while computer maker Apple delivered slightly on the plus side of estimates, recording a net profit of US$66 million, for its fiscal 2001 fourth quarter.”
