Running 64-bit Linux on a G5

Anonymous Reader writes "Apple still hasn't released a 64bit-clean Mac OS X but Linux distros have already such versions for the G5 available. Bas van de Wiel downloaded the 64bit Yellow Dog Linux beta and gave it a whirl. While YDL, along with Gentoo, still have their problems on 64bit, they are very close to offering a good solution for the enterprise, servers or simply for SETI cpu cycle-sucker users."
