And the winner is… Samba. CMP’s Tech Web reports that the Open Source networking effort has won this year’s $25,000 IDG/Linus Torvalds Community Award. Samba team member Andrew Tridgell was somewhat modest in describing the origins of his project: “This was something I did while I was procrastinating the stuff that I was supposed to be doing.”
