We received a media advisory earlier today from that pesky SCO Group, which, by the way, has been too quiet lately and probably needs some more investigating.

Chris Preimesberger

The advisory went like this:

“SCO will hold a press conference on Wednesday, June 22 at 11:30 a.m. (Eastern time) from the Great Moments Room at Yankee Stadium. For those unable to attend in person, we are providing a call in number. The press conference will be to announce the details of the shipment of SCO OpenServer 6, the upgrade to SCO’s flagship UNIX on Intel server operating system. Those speaking will include Darl McBride, president and CEO, Jeff Hunsaker, senior vice president and general manager of SCO’s UNIX division, and Sandy Gupta, vice president of engineering for SCO. We will also hear briefly from some of SCO’s partners and resellers.”

There followed the required contact information. Then, this curious paragraph:

“Please note: This conference call will be in listen-only audio mode and unfortunately, listeners will be unable to ask questions during the course of the call. We will however be happy to answer any follow questions you may have after the call by e-mailing bstowell@sco.com, or by ringing me on my mobile at 801-XXX-XXXX.”

Hmmm.
