The Simputer: A Low cost computing device

Although Linux and other open source “free” software has meant that such countries can now afford to use legal software, hardware costs still remain a multiple of the common man’s monthly salary. Against this background, we now have the “Simputer” a low cost computing device from India that promises to usher in a new era of computing for the masses who otherwise would never be able to afford access to computers.
