Software development gets on the Cluetrain
uwubuntufan writes "The free software model (bazaar approach) is continuing to outperform the top-down approach (cathedral approach), according to Simon Law, head of QA for Ubuntu. Simon Law gave a talk to the University of Waterloo Computer Science Club (csclub) about his experiences at Ubuntu. He discusses how traditional commercial software models are not serving customers well, and how the software model at Ubuntu is able to better serve their users. The talk includes a discussion of many interesting questions related to Ubuntu's software and business model (namely how to not go broke)."
