In recent years, many Open Source stalwarts have given India a miss when it came to evangelical tours. So it was a pleasant surprise to see Michael Tiemann, vice president, open source affairs, Red Hat — a widely renowned and extremely outspoken Open Source expert — on a brief visit to Mumbai. In his blog, Tiemann had slammed Jonathan Schwartz, president and chief operating officer, Sun, for his inability to clarify his company’s stand on Open Source and making doctored decisions to suit the interests of Microsoft.
