Tech leaders fight for client loyalty
For more than a year, both companies have gone after each other's customers with campaigns that would even impress car dealers, with their numerous rebates and discounts. Sun (SUNW: news, chart, profile) claims its H-P Away program has lured more than 150 H-P customers to buy servers that use Sun's Sparc processing technology. Sun also recently expanded the program to H-P customers who want to switch to servers running Advanced Micro Devices (AMD: news, chart, profile) Opteron chips.
