Chuck Talk writes “There is only one major flaw in the shared source program from my viewpoint, and that is that the program does not allow you to share the code at all. Customers who view the code may be setting themselves up for far greater troubles and accusations should they ever move forward on any plan to move to open source applications. Any programmer or analyst who accesses the proprietary code may have unknowingly set themselves up to be forever wed to that code, for they would always face the suspicion that they might be tempted to borrow from their experience of having seen the Microsoft code.”
