Tonight on the show we will be joined by an old friend Chris DiBona of Damage Studios, talking about their revolutionary gaming product Rekonstruction. Rekonstruction is the first massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) that will support over 1,000,000 concurrent users. In Rekonstruction, players will repopulate and rebuild the earth — physically, economically and politically. Features of Rekonstruction include near-infinite scalability, a large dynamic world environment, extensive community-based guild system, user customization and a narrative thread that rivals that of the literature.
The release of Rekonstruction is planned for Fall 2004.
Damage Studios is a new San Francisco based game studio working on Rekonstruction, a next generation massively multiplayer online game. Staffed with some of the smartest and most creative people in gaming and large scale networking, Damage Studios is in the process of what they hope will be changing what people will expect from gaming.
Chris needs no real introduction, but he is vice President of Marketing and a Founder of Damage. Chris brings extensive experience to Damage Studios; including a stint as executive at VA Software, spearheading the acquisitions of Linux.com and Andover.net by VA, and was a key organizer of the largest IPO in Nasdaq history.
