We will be joined by Jim Curtin of Netraverse. Jim has a long history in the
computer industry in both financial and entrepreneurial roles. Currently Jim is
President and CEO of NeTraverse, he also founded and served as President and CEO
of TreLOS and DASCOM. The latter company he sold to IBM in 99, serving as a Vice
President at IBM during the integration process. Jim also worked for Digital Equipment
Corporation and The Open Software Foundation. Jim is a graduate of Harvard University
and holds an MBA-equivalent from the Digital Equipment Corporations Financial
Development Program (FDP).
Netraverse can be found at the URL www.netraverse.com.
The lead products of Netraverse are Win4Lin and Win4Lin Terminal Server. These are products
designed to bridge Windows users over to Linux in as pain-free, quick and cost-effective way as
possible. Win4Lin technology integrates a copy of Windows into Linux as a
Linux process and Win4Lin resides in the Linux file system. Unlike VMware,
it is really part of Linux. Unlike WINE, it runs hundreds of thousands of
apps as “gold” right out of the box with no re-write, support or maintenance
involved.
