Chrys Coassin writes “This second edition of the International Coding Contest TopDev will take place on January 28th-29th 2006, in partnership with many international Universities and Companies.
Anyone can contest TopDev : students or professionals, from everywhere.
More than thousand of participants are expected!

TopDev 2006 is the only contest open to various programming languages, completely independent from programming software editors.
A realistic and detailed business case is to be realized using any language (Java, PHP, C#, ASP.Net, Python, …or only an UML model) within only 48 hours, from home.

The winners will not be the fastest programmers, but the ones who will propose the greatest technical solution with the most complete documentation (it’s not a speed contest, upon an arithmetical problem).

This world-wide event is based on many partnerships with Universities and Companies.
The Jury is being composed of professors from : USA (Duke), Canada (Western Ontario), France (Ecole Centrale Lyon,INSA Rouen, ISEP Paris,…) Belgium (University of Namur), the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic,..

More than 4000$ of prizes are to be divided between the winners:
Training sessions delivered by LearningTree International, IT Professional Books from Packtpub…

Subscriptions have started, until January 20th 2006.

«During this first week of Registration, more than 30 countries have been already represented, and TopDev2006 projects more than 1000 participants.… TopDev has become one of the major events in the Information System world. For example, the French university ‘Mines de Douai’ has integrated TopDev in their student’s courses! » says Chrystel Coassin, President of TopDev Contest.
