Linus Torvalds, 33, creator of the Linux operating system and self-proclaimed “poster boy” of the open source movement, received a warm welcome from a Korean audience yesterday during his first visit here. About 500 people filled the grand ballroom of Shilla Hotel, Seoul, some of them programmers and obvious Torvalds fans, to see their hero in person.
