Powell in his weekly column on Linux and Main, and someone who wants to start a Linux company might look into acquiring and maintaining now-dead commercial Linux applications, such as those formerly from Corel, which left a gap that hasn’t been filled. For all the strengths of free software, he writes, a focus on keeping the system resources needed to a minimum seems to have been left out.”
