Augusto Campos writes: “After too much hoopla about licensing changes, unavailability of binaries and other sorts of bad things (TM), here is a little piece of good news: one of the founders of Conectiva, kernel hacker Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo posted to Linux-br this message where he states that Conectiva Linux powered by UnitedLinux will be a new offer, for a specific public, but the other pre-existing offers will be maintained, with the same pricing and the same availability (of binaries and source) known by the community. Conectiva always made their ISOs fully and freely available to the general public, so that’s the good news. Will SuSE, Caldera and TurboLinux follow this nice example?”
