UnitedLinux’s Closed beta and the GPL: Much ado about nothing?

7
“Some free software fans are up in arms about the UnitedLinux consortium having had a closed beta of the UnitedLinux operating system before it’s open beta began on September 23rd. Their compliant is that UnitedLinux broke the Free Software Foundation’s General Public License (GPL) by required closed beta testers to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). And, to quote one anonymous writer on NewsForge, ‘Closed beta means UL rejected the entire purpose of Open Source on coding and testing. What’s next their rejection of the GPL?’ Nah, I don’t think so.”
