Day in and day out we find ourselves trying to either convert one file format to another or find a viewer for some obscure format. This article presents a concept for replacing our current set of incompatible file formats with a single, self-describing format that could make the data portable to any platform. The author describes a complete implementation of the concept, but is requesting feedback on the design before he produces an implementation.”
