Dax Kelson writes “I travel quite a bit around N. America and I’m always in search of Internet access for my laptop. Using Wi-Fi is nice, but has many drawbacks including very spotty coverage and additional cost. This is why I was very excited when PalmOne and Sprint released a firmware update for my Treo 650 smartphone that enables stable Bluetooth Dialup Networking (DUN) support. Bluetooth DUN allows a bluetooth capable laptop to get Internet access via the data network of the cell phone carrier. I wrote a guide that covers how to implement this type of Internet access using a Linux laptop.”
