Recently, while browsing the “NANAE” newsgroup, I’ve witnessed the odyssey of a family which couldn’t send e-mails to a relative any longer, because their Internet Service Provider got “blacklisted” (full story here; be warned some content of the related thread is definitely on the rough side).
Far from being an isolated problem, this kind of inconvenience is becoming more common for end users, as the diffusion of spam and malware in general gets out of control.
But what’s a blacklist, and how can it affect our email capabilities?
