White House names Science and Tech advisor

The White House today named its choice for director of the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy: physicist John H. Marburger, currently head of the Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory. Marburger received his Ph.D in applied physics from Stanford University, and is on leave from SUNY Stony Brook where he served in various roles including president for 14 years.
