Autodesk Inc. said this week that fourth-quarter net income outpaced expectations as revenue climbed 21 percent on strong demand for its computer-aided design software, used by architects and engineers to design buildings and other structures. Autodesk, which makes the AutoCAD design software program, also increased its outlook for fiscal 2006. The shares closed the normal trading day higher by $1, or 3.5 percent, at $29.91. “We had an outstanding year, exceeding all of our financial projections,” said Chairman Carol Bartz.
