Jabil Circuit shares rose 6 percent Friday after the electronics contract manufacturer gave an upbeat third quarter forecast and said its second-quarter profit rose 15 percent. Jabil climbed $1.56 to close at $27.58 after the company reported net income for the three months ended Feb. 28 of $46 million, or 22 cents a share, up from $40 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier. Sales rose to $1.72 billion from $1.49 billion, slightly topping the average estimate of analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call. Excluding certain charges, the company said it earned $54.9 million, or 27 cents a share, up 10 percent from $49.7 million, or 24 cents, a year earlier. On that basis, the results matched analyst expectations.
