The Montreal Police Service is leveraging IBM Canada
technology to give its 4,000 officers access to
emergency information courtesy of a secure public
wireless connection.

Because the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System being
used relies on the public cellular telephone
infrastructure, officers maintain contact with
dispatchers even when they travel beyond the
parameters of the primary network’s coverage area. The
robust system, according to the two principal parties,
supports Wi-Fi, satellite, private wireless networks,
and more.
