Why the CIO’s role continues to expand

Before becoming a consultant, Steve Koss served as CIO
for part of his 18-year tenure at the Oakland-Alameda
County Coliseum Stadium and Arena, which is home to
the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A’s, and the National
Basketball Association’s Golden State Warriors. Having
also held finance and accounting manager, director of
ticketing, and project manager positions at the
multi-purpose complex, Koss has put on enough
proverbial hats to be able to ascertain how CIOs are
perceived in their companies.
