Windows Vista for Starters: The Missing Manual

James Pyles writes “I reviewed Windows Vista: The Missing Manual for MCSEWorld
earlier this month so why do Windows Vista for Starters: The Missing Manual now? Actually, although they are both “Missing Manuals”, they are
manuals for different audiences. While Pogue’s Windows Vista: The Missing Manual included all the “bells and whistles”, it wouldn’t necessarily be
all that accessible for the average home user. Most home end users only tap into a fraction of an operating system’s functionality so a manual describing how
to perform the most arcane system tasks would be wasted material. The Missing Manual “For Starters” series aims
right at the “average Joe or Jane on the street” or in this case, “at the keyboard”. Let’s see if Pogue has hit the target he was shooting at.”
