Jungo Software Technologies, Inc. has announced the release of WinDriver v6.0 driver development tool suite, introducing USB driver development tools for Microsoft’s WinCE.NET embedded operating system as well as for Linux, thereby significantly enhancing its value to the USB device driver development market. Jungo’s newest version also includes support for PCI devices under WinCE.NET, Visual Basic code generation capabilities and a new enhanced installation mechanism.

Jungo’s industry-leading driver development tools for USB, PCI, CompactPCI and ISA devices eliminate both hardware access application and driver development bottlenecks by providing graphical development environments, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic utilities and samples. The tools enable immediate hardware access, automatic code generation and include cross platform capabilities for porting of code to all supported operating systems.

“Jungo is committed to providing tools that enable developers to focus on application development right away, increasing efficiency and reducing time to market,” said Ophir Herbst, general manager of Jungo’s Software Tools Division. “Jungo extends this commitment to additional segments of the market and v6.0 positions Jungo as a forerunner in the USB driver development tools market, being the only vendor to deliver high performance, intuitive driver development toolkits for USB that are cross platform compatible across Windows, WinCE.NET and Linux.”

Additional features include an improved USB API for PnP support, code generation for the Visual Basic development environment, enhanced error handling and reporting, and a revised installation mechanism. Overall WinDriver offers developers a more intuitive and simplified tool for building and distributing their drivers or hardware control applications.
