Mungkie Associates has released version 1.2.3 of its single-floppy, open source, GUI-enabled, net-centric embedded Linux distribution, which ranks
62nd overall among the most popular Freshmeat projects, and is Freshmeat’s #1 embedded project.

Mungkie initially created the embedded Linux distribution as a means to demonstrate the company’s ability to squeeze a rich GUI environment into
resource-constrained embedded devices. But judging by the project’s high popularity, it seems to have become much more than just a cool demo.

An earlier, now-deprecated release booted from two floppy disks. The latest release boots from a single 1.44MB floppy disk, and, according to Mungkie,
